Winter Scenery at Yellowstone National Park

Winter Scenery at Yellowstone National Park

So as you might have seen from my past couple of posts, I took a trip to Yellowstone National Park this February.  It was amazingly beautiful as expected.  I, for one, enjoy Yellowstone better in the winter than summer.  It is much less crowded which lends itself to peace, quiet and some solitude to enjoy nature at its best.  The wildlife tends to be a little easier to spot as well against the stark white of the snow.  In February at the park I didn’t quite expect a full week of snow, but that’s what I was given.  The snow is absolutely breathtaking creating gorgeous vistas and scenery all over.  The cold this year also froze many of the rivers.  Hope you enjoy my winter snowy scenes.  Yes, it was cold and I was outside capturing the pictures in the snow.  The trick to staying warm and dry, dress in layers, wear waterproof gear and always bring a smile along on a shoot.   Winter Trees and Snow alone on the hillside 20140212-DSC_2768-2 20140212-DSC_2857-2 20140214-DSC_3718 20140214-DSC_3732-Edit
