While hiking in Golden Gate Canyon State Park this past weekend, I stopped at a vista point in complete awe. The vista was so breathtaking. The clouds were rumbling around me, yet I was dry. The pollen in the air created this green fog over the valley. I could still see the tall snow capped mountains. What a beautiful sight! If you haven’t been to this park, it is one of my favorites in Colorado. Tucked away west of Golden, it has a lot of beautiful scenery to offer to its guests. The wildflowers this year were amazing and abundant. The trails can be steep, but are so much fun. There are even some back country camp sites along some of the trails which offer a night of peace and solitude not too far from the city. Don’t everyone rush out to check out this gem because parking is very limited. Where’s your favorite place to hike in Colorado?
