I was spending the weekend up in Summit County Colorado and stumbled upon one of the silliest events I have ever seen, OUTHOUSE RACES! The races were part of Kingdom Days in Breckenridge, CO which celebrate the mining days. I will admit I was laughing quite hard at this event and all the contestants seemed to be having a blast. What a fun afternoon of watching homemade toilets on wheels being pushed and pulled. Many were decorated with a theme like the Emperor’s New Throne, Pooper Troopers and Constipation Proclamation with an Abe Lincoln riding on the toilet. Ullr hat as part of the costume
It was a perfect day in Breckenridge with temps in the 70s and a nice breeze. The street was lined with spectators enjoying, laughing and cheering the races. There was even a crash of two of the outhouses while in the midst of a race! What a crazy, fun and unique event. Might have to go back for the 7th annual outhouse races next year!
