I recently discovered a great blue heron rookery and I am really enjoying returning to see the animals interact. I have witnessed copulating, lots of mating behavior, flying, defending a nest, feistiness between 2 birds near the nest and lots more! I can literally sit there for hours and enjoy the experience. It’s also fun to capture some of the behavior as best as I can with my camera. It’s not always easy because the tree limbs can get in the way, but I try. Here’s the results so far.
