So 2015 has come to a close and we are into a new year which means it’s a good time to reflect on the past year. Here’s my top 7 photographs from 2015. I look forward to 2016 and what it will bring as far as my photography. Each photograph has a story to go with it. Hope you enjoy. What do you have in store for 2016? Image 1: Great Blue Heron Snuggle This photo was taken during nesting season, so these beautiful birds are in their full mating plumage. I love the feelings this photo conveys to me. I thought it was a very special capture and moment. Image 2: Elk Rut Surprise After a weekend show up in Estes Park in September, I went into the park on Monday morning to capture the elk rut. What photographer wouldn’t, right? Anyways, I found this big guy and he was doing his morning bugling. When I got home and was looking at my photos, I noticed the little fawn in the grass. That is what makes this photo special to me, the unexpected. Image 3: Burrowing Owls Full Nest This was my first season finally able to capture these neat little owls in there burrows. I enjoyed my time spent with them and I especially love this one because they are ALL looking at me wide-eyed. That is no easy task with any wildlife, but particularly with birds I feel. Image 4: Antelope Canyon in Arizona I was introduced to this canyon on an amazing last minute trip with some fellow Denver photographers. Let’s just say it was breathtaking and stressful all at once. Being inside the canyon with tons of other people is very stressful and I struggled with focusing on my work. Well, I have to say I came away with some amazing photos and fond memories of my first trip to this beautiful landscape. Image 5: Prairie dog Ok, so it’s a mundane subject. BUT I love the surrounding purple wildflowers. I also love that she’s eating them and that you can see her claws. Just a neat moment in time and the color makes me happy. Image 6: Morning Sunrise with Fog Taken in Crested Butte, one of my favorite towns in Colorado, during my annual summer trip. I love this place because of all the amazing scenery. No matter where you go, it is just breathtaking. The town is a great little place to relax in the evenings with a drink and dinner. What more can you ask for? Image 7: Fox! I had the best time with a fox this summer. She was amazing and I lost track of time while capturing her in photographs. This one might be favorite of her. Simply, sweet and just perfect. This concludes my 7 favorite photographs from 2015! What do you think of my favorite?
