My first experience with bighorn sheep lambs

My first experience with bighorn sheep lambs

What a fabulous morning I had on Mt. Evans.  Let’s just say it is worth getting up early and getting on that mountain for the beautiful light of morning on the animals.  This was not my first time on Mt. Evans, but my first experience seeing bighorn sheep lambs!  There were four lambs and they were adorable.  One of the moms was quite protective, but she calmed down after a little while. Up close and personal Well hello there Even though I was a good distance away from her, she decided to charge forward at me.  I pushed backwards to give her plenty of room.  She stopped and walked away.  I pushed forward again and this time I noticed the 4 lambs!  I immediately was awe struck and slowly crept forward to capture them with photographs.  I got lucky and they did some great poses for me.  They even nursed from mom.  They must have realized I was totally harmless and only wanted to observe them because they were super cool after the initial “attack.”  I still kept my eye on mom, but she was cool.  We seemed to have an agreement.Nursing Bighorn Lambs
