If you are birder, you might have heard of Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. If not, you should do some research about visiting! It is a wonderful place to experience thousands of birds. Sandhill cranes and snow geese winter there, but it is also home to other species including ducks, raptors and even road runners. On a recent trip this November I coincided with the full moon. One evening they lined up perfectly as they flew into the ponds. Not easy to capture in photographs, but perseverance paid off for me. The sounds of the birds in such numbers is awesome. While I can’t fully capture the noise and feeling in a photograph, I feel like this one is still beautiful. Have you been to Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge? What did you think?
