On a recent outing in search of fun photographs, I went by a favorite osprey nest. I enjoy watching the mating season from both osprey arriving to the nest, to incubation, nestlings and then fledglings. Right now it’s incubation time and the female is usually found sitting low down in the nest with the male sometimes nearby and sometimes off fishing or gathering food for himself and for his mate. Well, this was my lucky day as an osprey invader decided to stop by the nest. The female was low down in the nest and the male was seen chasing on another osprey. He chased this intruder off several times before it managed to actually land on the nest. The female was not happy about this at all and she put on quite the show to get the intruder away. The pair were left together alone on the nest and the male didn’t budge from his nest perch for the next hour that I stuck around. What a neat site to see!
