As a photographer sometimes you have to get up early to photograph fun events and hot air balloons would be one of those events. I think it was well worth the effort to watch these beautiful serene balloons float away. I loved the colors and the variety. The first balloon to take off was the “Tetra” a home made balloon with a non-traditional shape. It had four corners vs the rounded traditional shape. It also got to fly the American flag and was serenaded by the Star Spangled Banner. After Tetra took off, the other balloons starting inflating. Soon enough there were so many balloons floating away and it was so majestic. Of course, the mountain backdrop of Longs Peak doesn’t hurt the scene. Just another beautiful morning here in Erie, Colorado.
