There are days when it is so exciting to have a great camera and to have awesome friends! Today is one of those days! It was my first experience with wildlife in the city! Yes, that’s right wildlife in the city of Boulder. For some silly and very wrong reason momma bear and her 2 cubs have climbed a tree in Boulder. Not just anywhere in Boulder, but the east side of Boulder. Spotted in the morning by neighbors on a bike path, the family was lazy at first. Then the cubs got antsy and wanted to leave the tree. The local Boulder Open Space ranger would not allow that to happen, so he made noise to scare it back into the tree. This woke up mom who then proceeded to snap her jaw and hiss, both of which are warning signs. She was super anxious at this point. Of course, then the other little cub decides to come down lower in the tree as well. At about this point Colorado Parks and Wildlife showed up and closed off the trail to this tree. It’s sad that this mom got so lost in the city and didn’t remain in the open space. Hope they all turn out okay.
