While I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the wolves up close and personal in Yellowstone, there were other highlights of the trip. Finding a beaver building its dam was another such highlight. This happens to be my first experience up close with a beaver and lucky me, it’s winter! This little beaver was busy biting off way more than I thought it could handle. These branches were huge and it kept stopping to catch its breath or so it seemed. It would go back and forth cutting off a branch, dragging it under the water and then back to do it all over again. I loved that I could get quite close to it especially with an extended lens. But just watching it work its magic made me smile and be amazed. Nature and wildlife really is beautiful and amazing! Hope you enjoy these cute photos – even some with its little orange beaver teeth! Here you can see how large the branch is compared to his body size. What a resourceful little animal!
