So I recently took a trip to a local state park to check for bald eagles. I unfortunately don’t have the longest lens for capturing these beautiful birds, but I was able to spot quite a few in the park. Many were out on the ice fishing. That made them unaccessible to my camera because of the distance. However, I followed one with my eyes as it took off for a bunch of trees nearby. Then I drove over to the trees and FOUND IT! I was so happy I was able to spot it. This bald eagle did not seem to want his picture taken. I got all set up with my tripod and focused and bam, it took off! I was able to quickly capture the photo above as it flew away. Thankfully it landed not too far from where I was standing and I was able to capture a few more because it took off again. The birds are so majestic and amazing to watch. Well, I guess I enjoy watching all wildlife or I wouldn’t go out in the freezing temperatures in search for them. Hope you enjoy my few photos of the one bald eagle in the trees. I enjoyed spotting them out on the ice and I even saw one catch a fish. Success for the bald eagle! However, I really liked the sun reflecting off the ice and all the other birds hanging out on the thin ice. There is one photo below which I felt captured the constant movement of the birds standing around on the ice. I think it’s beautiful and I sure hope you agree. Don’t forget to always keep an eye out in the trees as you never know what amazing birds you can find while driving around. I have spotted eagles quite a few places around Colorado and I’m sure you can too. It always makes your day a little more exciting to see one of these majestic birds yourself even if you can’t photograph it.
